The Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA) proudly participated in this year’s Sierra Leone Mining Week, held from the 8th to 12th of April at the Freetown International Conference Center- Bintumani. The event featured and coincided with the 10th Ordinary Meeting of the African Diamond Producers Association (ADPA) and its Council of Members.
This year’s mining week event served as a vital platform for engaging with key stakeholders and government bodies.
The theme of the event focused on sustainable mining practices, policy frameworks, and the importance of sharing mineral wealth equitably in mining communities. The event further highlighted the shared responsibility of ensuring that Sierra Leone’s mineral wealth truly benefits its people through sustainable mining.
The Authority’s participation reaffirmed its strong commitment to remaining actively involved in the developments occurring within the mining Sector.
The Sierra Leone’s mining week sent a clear message that Sierra Leone’s wealth lies not only beneath the earth but in the brilliance and resilience of its people and the potential we have as a Country.
